How To Become An Actor
If you are looking to become an actor we have all the information you need to start on your road to stardom. This website includes information on acting tips, acting lessons and much more. Here are some basic tips on your journey to become an actor.
Be Good At What You Do
it is important to acquire the right skills to impress casting agents and movie companies. There are numerous ways to learn how to become an actor, one way is by taking acting classes. However, it is important to find a teacher or lesson book that can give you valuable experience. For example, in the book The Talent Code certain coaches are known for turning out one superstar after another. It’s not just a coincidence, good coaches make a huge difference in your success.
Be Different In A Good Way
Another important factor is to be different. There are literally thousands of people trying to become an actor and competing over a limited number of roles. Many actors are already very talented, so how do you beat out the competition? By being different in a good way. This means having your own flavor and style as an actor. An related example of this is found in music. If you hear a certain artist, you can immediately recognize who it is simply by their musical style. This is what you need to encompass in acting, your own recognizable style that no one else does. Some basic examples of this can include your look, your voice, how you deliver lines and body language. Just think of Christopher walken, his voice and body language is instantly recognizable and enjoyed by millions.
Don’t Compare Yourself to Others
Learn from your favorite actors, but do not imitate them. Imitation is the quickest form of suicide. Never compare yourself to famous actors! How can you possibly think it is fair to compare yourself to someone who is already famous such as a Brad Pitt? Fully express yourself in your own way, learn from other actors but never copy or imitate them.
Location Is Important
Where you live is highly relevant to your success as an actor. Now I’m not saying you must move to Hollywood to be an actor, but odds are living in a rural farm village of 300 people you won’t have much opportunity. Do some research, find where the most work is for the type of roles you want and consider relocating. Make sure before you relocate you have some kind of day job to hold you over, don’t just move somewhere expecting work with no financial back up. Many famous actors today spent years working dead end jobs at coffee shops and other places before they got their first major role.
Take Action
Many people want to learn how to become an actor but quickly scratch it off as a non-achievable dream before they even try. Start slow so you don’t overwhelm yourself by first taking acting classes and learning free acting tips online. Start practicing in front of a camera at home with friends and create skits. You can even upload skits to YouTube and get real feedback around the world with no cost to you. Many famous people today were discovered through YouTube such as Justin Bieber. But the most important thing is to just start taking action even if its just one small thing a day. A famous Chinese philosophy said it best, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao-tzu.
